It’s easy to see the value a custom website can offer to a start-up’s organization. It helps get your name out there, inform potential customers and investors, and make it comfortable for people to search and interaction with you.
Despite the benefits of a newly designed and customized site, many of our potential customers are either not equipped to invest in such an expensive site right now or don’t have the resources to do the programming themselves.
Fortunately, Clarity loves working with start-ups and creative entrepreneurs to come up with a payment plan that works for their organization.
We have found that the most affordable option for many of our customers is to opt for one of our less powerful and therefore less expensive options.
When clients come to us with short-term liquidity concerns, we can offer solutions to their website ideas that remove some of the “gold” elements.
While continuing to build a functional site, we can offer you a basic platform for a much lower upfront cost. When the time comes when you’re ready to improve your site, Clarity already knows how your site works and can create a smooth transition to a higher quality website.
Alternatively, some of our customers also choose to get our help implementing a third-party option. While it does come at a cost, in the long run it can be worth it to have the marketing and branding that come from a website built right out of the box.

How to build a website?
Well, it all depends on what you need to do for the site. A small 5-page marketing website is very affordable and can be built with WordPress.
These platforms aren’t very secure or robust, but if you install backup plugins and something happens, it’s relatively easy to restore the site. They can be designed and built slightly custom built by a developer or you can try them out yourself.
Some hosting companies even provide a website installer or builder when hosting with them. It’s a little more expensive, but if you go this route, go for WordPress Engine.
They are the largest WordPress hosting company in the world and have exceptional customer support. While there are many plugins for WordPress, we recommend a more secure and robust platform, such as DNN, if you plan to add custom features and want your site to grow and customize as your business grows.
DNN also has an open-source version which is free, so the cost is almost the same, but the platform is much more secure and scalable. You can even update it years later when your business takes off.
